My verse for the week...
After asking the Lord to help me find something in his Word this morning to help me, I found this verse this morning in I Samuel 30:6b and it really helped. David has just come home to find his city burnt, his possessions gone, and his wives and family taken captive. His reaction is this verse...But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

I've been reading through David's life story, too, and it's been encouraging to see that God was always faithful to David even when David's heart and focus were not on God. It is indeed only in God that we can be encouraged, and never in ourselves!
